Hokies in the mix for Amanze Ngumezi
Virginia Tech remains in the hunt for 2018 power forward Amanze Ngumezi. The 6-9, 235-pounder narrowed his list last night.
Clemson, Georgia, Temple, Tennessee, UAB, and Wichita State are the other remaining contenders for the three-star out of Savannah (Ga.) C.A. Johnson. Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma State, and USF were among the other schools to offer, but have been eliminated.
VT has one commitment in the 2018 class, guard Jarren McAllister. Some frontcourt help would certainly be welcome, with two bigmen not out of the question for the class. Four-star David McCormack is right alongside Ngumezi at the top of the Hokies' list.
Ngumezi has yet to schedule his official visits, but is expected to take one to VT this Fall before coming to a college commitment.
