The recruiting drought is over for Virginia Tech.
The Hokies picked up a much-needed and talented addition to their 2015 class when Virginia Beach Salem (Va.) three-star defensive end Trevon Hill announced his pledge this morning on High School Sports Talk on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM in Hampton Roads. Hill chose Virginia Tech over his other finalist, North Carolina.
"I'm sound with my decision and I knew Wednesday where I was headed," he said. "When I thought about it, everything about it, it was just the best fit with me."
Hill is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 19 weakside defensive end and the No. 25 player in Virginia. He'll be joined by a pair of former high school teammates in the class of 2013, tight end Bucky Hodges and linebacker Andrew Motuapuaka.
Hill is also the sixth commitment for the Hokies in the 2015 class, all on the defensive side of the ball. He joins Rivals250 cornerback Mook Reynolds, three-star cornerback DuWayne Johnson, three-star defensive tackle Eric Whitehead, three-star defensive tackle Harry Lewis and three-star linebacker Carson Lydon.
