In making his decision, Courtland (Va.) athlete Victor Greene didn't need a ton of offers to sift through. Though it's been a few months since that first offer came, Greene decided today he was ready to accept it, committing to Virginia Tech.
Greene becomes commitment No. 7 for the Hokies in the 2016 class. The news was first reported by Nathan Warters of the Fredericksburg Freelance-Star.
Greene was recruited by defensive coordinator Bud Foster as an athlete, but will likely play linebacker in college. He ran for over 1,000 yards last season as a running back and had 50 tackles as a linebacker.
Greene is now the Hokies' third in-state commitment for the 2016 class. He joins Stonewall Jackson (Va.) safety Reggie Floyd and Hampton (Va.) three-star athlete Jovonn Quillen.
Also making up Virginia Tech's 2016 class as commitments are Hanahan (SC) wide receiver Samuel Denmark, Wise (Md.) cornerback Myles Wolfolk, St. Frances (Md.) cornerback Kareem Felder and Greer (SC) cornerback Troy Pride.
