In June, it appeared that Good Counsel (Md.) four-star defensive end Darius Fullwood was set with his college future. On June 28, he committed to Kentucky.
But over the past few weeks, Fullwood has had a change of heart. Last night, he announced his decommitment from the Wildcats on Twitter and this afternoon, he gave his pledge to Virginia Tech.
Fullwood unofficially visited the Hokies this past weekend for their game against Georgia Tech, his first trip to Blacksburg since an April scrimmage.
Fullwood, Rivals.com's No. 17 strongside defensive end and No. 6 player in Maryland, is the second player from Good Counsel, a national powerhouse, to commit to Virginia Tech in the past three classes. Five-star cornerback Kendall Fuller committed in the 2013 class.
The commitment of Fullwood is the Hokies' No. 16 pledge for 2015 and their third four-star ranked player. Fullwood joins Rivals250 linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and Rivals250 cornerback Mook Reynolds.
IM PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT I WILL BE COMMITING TO VIRGINIA TECH‼️🐦
