Evans chose Virginia Tech over offers from California and Missouri. He officially visited the Tigers Wednesday-Friday, before he traveled to Blacksburg. Evans cancelled a previously scheduled official visit to California this weekend.
Evans is not currently rated by Rivals.com. He was recruited heavily and offered at Memphis.
Evans is the Hokies' 15th commitment for the 2016 class and their second quarterback. He joins Saline (Mich.) three-star quarterback Joshua Jackson, who committed in June.
