On a busy weekend for recruits trimming their lists, Fairmont (W.V.) 2018 defensive lineman Dante Stills made the cut to six schools, and Virginia Tech remains in the hunt.
Louisville, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, and West Virginia are on the reduced list, as well. the home-state Mountaineers - where older brother Darius just wrapped up his freshman year - is still considered the favorite for the younger Stills.
The 6-4, 265-pound Stills is listed as a strongside defensive end (where he ranks No. 9 nationally, in addition to his No. 189 overall national rank), though should he choose Virginia Tech, he'd likely continue to bulk up and spend his college days as a defensive tackle. The top player in West Virginia, he took an unofficial visit to Blacksburg for the Hokies' mid-January junior day. He plans to make his return to the VT campus this Spring.
Stills did indicate that he would like to make his college commitment soon, and getting back to see a spring practice would give the Hokies a serious shot to upset West Virginia for his signature.
