Two years ago, just before his sophomore year of high school, class of 2015 William Fleming (Va.) shooting guard Warren Craft became the first commitment for former Virginia Tech coach James Johnson in his tenure as head coach. But when Johnson was fired two weeks ago, Craft wasn't sure where he stood.
Now, just over a week from the Hokies' hiring of coach Buzz Williams from Marquette, Craft has decided he needs a new course of action. Craft informed HokieHaven.com earlier tonight of his decision.
"I have decided that I am going to decommit from Tech and re-open my recruiting process," Craft said via email.
Craft currently doesn't have any offers, but prior to his Virginia Tech commitment, he had interest from North Carolina and Radford. Craft is coming off a stress fracture in his left shin that sidelined him from the end of the AAU season last summer until January. He returned for the final 14 games this season, helping William Fleming to a 14-7 overall record and advance to the second round of the VHSL state playoffs.
