Caleb Woodson is a Hokie!

Three days, three commits. Every one a linebacker. The latest is Haymarket (Va.) Battlefield three-star Caleb Woodson.

A hybrid safety/linebacker, he picked the Hokies over a group of finalists that included Vanderbilt, UVa, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

A 6-3, 200-pounder, Woodson is a three-star ranked the No. 29 player in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He joins No. 21 Hannes Hammer, No. 28 Takye Heath, No. 35 Marcell Baylor, and No. 37 Jason Abbey as in-state pledges in the class (Tuesday's addition, Tavorian Copeland, is as-yet unranked). Although he's ranked as a safety, most schools - including Virginia Tech which assigned him to position coach and area recruiter Shawn Quinn - like him as a hybrid linebacker.

Woodson earned his first offer from the Hokies after a January junior day visit, then accumulated a number of other opportunities before narrowing his list to five finalists in May. Along the way, he returned to Blacksburg for an unofficial visit. Then, he took officials to Wake Forest, UVa, and VT the first three weekends in June before setting a commitment timeline.
