Bryce Thompson decommits

It's seemed likely for some time, but now it's official: Dorian (S.C.) Roebuck 2018 receiver Bryce Thompson is no longer a Hokie commit.

The 6-0, 185-pounder was the first person to join the class last Summer, but flirtations with South Carolina and others have demonstrated that he was never the most solid commit.

A theee-star ranked the No. 75 wideout and No. 8 Palmetto Stayer in the 2018 class, Thompson plans to continue considering the Hokies, but VT's work is cut out trying to lure him back.

VT has added a slot receiver - in a way - since Thompson committed originally. Quarterback DeJuan Ellis decommitted, then recommitted as an "athlete" prospect within a week. He is a likely slot receiver for the Hokies.
