Braylon Johnson is a Hokie!

Virginia Tech's big week continues with a commitment from Highland Springs (Va.) defensive back Braylon Johnson.

The 6-0, 155-pounder is a three-star ranked the No. 12 rising senior in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the No. 76 CB nationally. More importantly, he's a crucial in-state player and a VT legacy who once looked like Blacksburg wasn't on his mind.

Johnson picked Virginia Tech over South Carolina and Wake Forest, among many others (including over a dozen Power-5 offers). The son of former Hokies safety Loren Johnson - who is also the head coach at Highland Springs High - Johnson is the second Springer to pick VT in the class, joining receiver Takye Heath.

VT was the first to offer over a year ago, in January 2021. He's visited the Virginia Tech campus more than any other, but has admitted behind the scenes that it took some warming up to the idea of following in Dad's footsteps. With his pledge, VT now has 13 total commitments in a class that ranks No. 37 nationally according to Rivals.com.
