Beamer Recaps 8.16 Scrimmage

Just two weeks from the start of the 2014 season, Virginia tech held its first scrimmage of fall camp in Lane Stadium. The scrimmage was closed to both the media and the public, but coach Frank Beamer recapped the day and what he saw afterward with the media.
In an offense vs. defense setting, the offense came up with five touchdowns and 385 total yards. Perhaps most impressively, the Hokies ran for 183 yards, including a five-yard touchdown run by freshman Travon McMillian and a three-yard touchdown run by freshman Shai McKenzie. Sophomore Kendall Fuller had the only non-offensive score, as he blocked a field goal attempt, picked up the loose ball and returned it 87 yards for a touchdown.
