Though he'd planned two official visits, the first one was all he needed.
Just before leaving Virginia Tech this afternoon, where he officially visited this weekend, Winter Haven (Fla.) three-star offensive lineman Mike Arnold decided he wanted to be a Hokie and made his commitment. He made the visit with his parents and text messaged HokieHaven.com the news moments ago.
Arnold becomes commitment No. 15 for Virginia Tech, including a pair of prep players who signed letters of intent with the Hokies this spring.
"I'm very excited," Arnold said via text message. "I think we've got a championship in the making."
Arnold said he still plans on officially visiting Nebraska, his other finalist, Oct. 24. He was recruited to Virginia Tech by assistant coaches Stacy Searels and Torrian Gray.
