AJ Bush is a Hokie

Virginia Tech has landed commitment No. 20 in the 2017 class, from junior college quarterback A.J. Bush:

The 6-4, 220-pound Bush signed with Nebraska out of high school, and spent two years in Lincoln (without seeing the field) before plying his trade at Council Bluffs (Iowa) Iowa Western Community College.

He split time at the quarterback position with Robert Morris signee Andre Nunez for the Reviers this Fall. Bush completed 52 of 114 passes (45.6%) for 602 yards (5.3 per attempt) with three touchdowns and eight interceptions on the year. He also ran 95 times for 285 yards (3.0 per run) and another five touchdowns.

Virginia Tech now has two quarterbacks in the 2017 class, with early enrollee Hendon Hooker expected to hit campus in the coming days. The Hokies are in need of multiple quarterbacks thanks to the early NFL departure of 2016 starter Jerod Evans - himself a junior college transfer who spent just one year as a Hokie.
