Baltimore LB has plenty of offers

After an outstanding junior season, there is no shortage of college interest for Maryland linebacker Jim Poggi. In fact, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder currently has around two dozen scholarship offers, according to his father, Biff Poggi, who is also his head coach at the Gilman School in Baltimore.

"The offers are well over 20 now," said Coach Biff Poggi. "It's pretty much all the ACC schools, Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, Auburn, South Carolina, and UCLA."

Poggi, whose older brother plays football at Duke, has visited Durham before along with Maryland and North Carolina. This month, he is leaving with his father on a trip that will take them to three more of the schools on his list over the span of the next week. First Texas, then Iowa, and last but not least, Ohio State.
