Adams getting close?

VIENNA - The recruiting process is almost over for Dooly County defensive tackle Montravius Adams, and he couldn't be more relieved.

The five-star defensive tackle has taken three official visits in less than three weeks time, and is set to take his fourth this coming weekend to Georgia.

While he is ready to get the process over with, Adams said Wednesday at his school that he has enjoyed his first three trips and had this to say about each one:

Florida - "It was a good visit. I liked it a lot. I got to sit down with the coaches a little more and get some one-on-one time. I really got to know some of the people around there."

Clemson - "It went good. I hung out with who I usually hang out with, Sammy Watkins. We went around, we looked around the campus, we talked to the players about how they like the coaches. It is a family atmosphere there and I feel at home."

Alabama - "It went pretty good. I got to talk to all the coaches. I got closer to them. I got closer to some of the players. I was shocked about the little celebration they had honoring them because they had fans out there at eight in the morning and it was cold. I know they have some good fans."

Adams last scheduled visit is to Georgia, and after having visited UGA twice this season for games, this trip is more for his mother, Debbie Young, than himself.

"Well I'm just trying to see what my Mama is going to like about it really," said Adams. "I know a lot about Georgia, and it is a great place. I want my Mama to see it again."

This trip to the Classic City will be Adams' third chance to spend time with new defensive line coach Chris Wilson.

Adams likes what he has seen so far, but also wants to get to know the Georgia assistant better on his official visit.

"Yeah, I need to get to know him a little better," said Adams when asked if he would be spending a lot of time with Wilson on this trip. "I like him a lot, but I want to get to know him more."

At this point in the process, Adams is still unsure if he will take a fifth official visit, and if he does decide to take one, he isn't sure whether it will be to Auburn or USC.

He does, however know that he will be making his decision on National Signing Day at 9:45 a.m. on ESPNU.

While he isn't ready to name any leaders or talk about what team may have the edge, the Rivals100 prospect does believe he is getting closer to knowing where he wants to go to school.

"I think I'm getting close to making a decision," he said. "I haven't made one, but I think I'm getting close to knowing where I want to go."
