Virginia Tech has its first commitment in the 2018 class. Columbia (S.C.) Ben Lippen wide receiver Bryce Thompson committed to Justin Fuente's program today at the Blacksburg Bash visit event.

The 6-0, 185-pounder is not yet ranked by Rivals.com. He earned his VT scholarship offer less than a week ago, and now has accepted it. The Hokies beat out East Carolina and several FCS schools for his pledge, though Power-5 interest had started to arrive for him.
