Pros: Rushing is one of the real sleepers and is a sprinter on the Stanford track team. He also performed well as a kickoff returner. In run support, he is able to come up and tackle well and plays up to his surprising strength in that area. He has a very good second gear to close and has skills to make a play on the ball when he reads the route properly. He has the closing speed that makes up for mistakes. He shows the ability to help as a return man. He does not shy away from contact and shows fine strength as a tackler. Cons: He likes to play it safe in coverage and will give the receiver a big cushion that leaves him vulnerable to the underneath patterns. He lacks top ball skills. He has some wasted motion coming out of his backpedal that has compromised his athletic ability. In coverage, he will bite on double moves. In run support, he is an arm tackler. Numbers: He had an outstanding workout at Stanford that made him a late round possibility on athleticism alone. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 and 4.42 seconds. He ran the short shuttle in 4.34 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.12 seconds. He had a 40" vertical jump, a 10' broad jump and did 20 reps in the 225-pound bench press. He was not invited to the NFL Combine.
