Virginia Tech guard Erick Green has been named to the 2013 All-ACC Men's Basketball first team, as selected by Atlantic Coast Conference coaches on Monday.
This is the first season of a coaches' All-ACC team. Green was named first team All-ACC by members of the ACC media last week. The vote was finalized on March 11 and only took into account the regular season.
Green, who received 31 of a possible 33 votes, is joined on the first team by Mason Plumlee of Duke and Joe Harris of Virginia, who each received 33 votes, followed by Shane Larkin of Miami, with 32 votes. Seth Curry of Duke rounds out the first team. Curry also received 31 votes.
The nation's leading scorer, Green scored in double figures in every game this season and leads the ACC in scoring in both overall games and conference games. He averaged 25.0 points per game and shot 47.5 percent from the field. Green set a new shool record with 801 points scored this season, breaking the old mark of 785 by Bimbo Coles in the 1989-90 season. In the regular season finale at Wake Forest on Sunday, he scored his 1,700th career point and moved past Ace Custis into 10th place in career scoring at Virginia Tech.
