For Virginia Tech, there's plenty familiarity with Pittsburgh. The two squared off 11 times from 1993 to 2003, with the Hokies getting a 7-4 edge. The Panthers won the last three meetings, however.
A native of eastern Pennsylvania, sophomore Kyshoen Jarrett is familiar with Pittsburgh another way. As a 2011 four-star recruit, he committed to the Panthers before a coaching change caused him to decommit and later sign with Virginia Tech.
Jarrett said he still keeps tabs on his friends at Pittsburgh.
While he'll be returning to his home state, he might not have as big of an impact returning kicks. Though his punt return set up the Hokies' first touchdown Saturday against Austin Peay, he's now listed behind redshirt freshman Michael Holmes on the depth chart at punt returns as Virginia Tech goes game to game with its starters.
Jarrett spoke about playing the Panthers, returning kicks and other topics at today's press conference with HokieHaven.com and the media.
