The wide receiver position will be heavily targeted by Urban Meyer and his staff in the 2013 class and early on the Buckeyes are working hard on some of the nation's top prospects at the position. One of the highest priority targets right now is Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley standout Robert Foster. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect was in Columbus two weekends ago on an unofficial visit.
"It was nice, it put a lot on my mind," said Foster. "As everyone knows, Ohio State is one of the top schools in the country right now and they showed me a lot of love. They showed me that if I come there it would be like home."
The Buckeyes have already extended a verbal offer to Foster, as have many of the top programs in the nation. Foster says he is trying not to get too caught up in all of the attention.
"It's very exciting," he said. "I'm blessed and I'm just letting the game go right now, sitting back and relaxing and making sure the grades are perfect to get there."
On his Ohio State visit, Foster was able to meet with Meyer and rest of the coaching staff and came away impressed by his experience.
"I was the first one to talk to Urban Meyer and he showed me a lot of love," Foster said. "I also got to talk to coach Vrabel and really I talked to every coach but the main thing was that I got to talk to Urban Meyer. That was the most important thing and it made me feel comfortable."
Though Foster hasn't put together any working list of schools yet, he does hold Ohio State in high regard after his trip to Columbus.
"I think Ohio State would be one of my top five right now," he said. "Like I've said before, whatever head coach comes in first that obviously means a lot. That means that coach really wants to get to know you and get me out there so I'd put them on there."
Another school that will likely factor heavily into the equation is Penn State. Foster will be in State College in the near future to meet with the new coaching staff.
"I'm going to Penn State, I think on the 18th," he said. "I want to see the campus and I want to feel like I'm at home, just like at every other college campus, I want to feel like I'm at home. There's nothing like home, you know."
Foster is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and the No. 26 overall player in the nation.
