This and That: James Madison

HoyaReport.com Following is additional coverage, including observations and comments, of Georgetown's 89-53 victory over James Madison University, Tuesday night.
No Conference Slight: Responding to an ill-conceived question from this writer, Georgetown's coach, John Thompson III, eliminated any thought linking this game's lopsided score to being a manifestation of playing Pac-10 and ACC teams consecutively.
After having earlier indicated "That team, James Madison, is significantly better than the score", the Hoyas head coach later replied "No, not at all" to the above stated proposition. "I think that's something that fans look at, and maybe even you guys, people in the press say. We don't talk about or think about what name is across the chest.
"That's a very good team from a very good league (the Colonial Athletic Association), just like the previous three or four teams that we have had. We lost to a CAA team (Old Dominion 75-62). We are no position to start looking at conferences".
Returning to his constant refrain, Thompson went on to state "It's about us. It's about our preparation, our improvement, that's what it's about. Whether we are playing a Pac-10 team, a CAA team, or the (NBA's Washington) Wizards' it's about us".
