Florida's Rimmer talks Vol offer
One player who was flying a bit under the radar prior to the April evaluation period is Florida big man Schulyer Rimmer, from Boone High School in Orlando. Rimmer entered the spring with an already solid offer list, but he's added several more schools to that list in recent weeks.
Tennessee, which would almost certainly like to use two of its current three open slots to add post depth, is one of the programs that's stepped up with a firm offer in the last month.
Rimmer (6-foot-8, 235 pounds) is a physical big-man who had been on the Vols' radar since last spring and Counzo Martin & Co. saw enough from him in April to make him a priority target.
"Coach Martin came down to my school when we were having an open gym at the end of April and watched us then I heard from him the very next day. He told me he really liked what he'd seen from me and that Tennessee was offering me a scholarship," Rimmer said of the development.
