December 19, 2011 - The two major, Washington, DC, universities west of Rock Creek Park matched up Saturday, with Georgetown taking down American 81-55 before 9,964 fans. Sophomore guard Markel Starks led the game with 18 points, a career high. Starks' offense was felt throughout, but his three consecutive, first half three pointers were certainly daggers in the Eagles' hearts; before that outpour, American led 7-6, afterward, they trailed 15-10. The Hoyas would lead throughout thereafter.
